MSUM TKD is a Tae Kwon Do club serving the students and faculty of Minnesota State University Moorhead. We are affiliated with Northwest Martial Arts out of Fargo, ND. Northwest is one of the premier Tae Kwon Do organizations in the Midwest.
Tae Kwon Do is a Korean martial art focusing on striking with the hands and feet. Aside from the self-defense applications, competition also gives you the oppurtunity to test your skills agains other students of similar experience. For the people that enjoy competition there are local, regional, national and world competitions; Tae Kwon Do is even in the Olympics. If competition isn't for you, don't worry. You are not required to compete.
We are located on campus in Nemzek, the athletic building. We hold classes two days a week, Monday and Wednesday, with a beginner and advanced class every night. For more information please check the class schedule on the left. Each class counts as a one credit Physical Education course.
There are a number of reasons to join Tae Kwon Do. The classes are a great way to learn how to defend yourself, get some good excersize, gain self-confidence and have fun learning a new activity with your fellow students. So grab a friend or roommate and sign up for classes today.
In addition to the classes, MSUM also has a student organization, the TKD Club. The TKD club is an oppurtunity for the students of MSUM TKD to get together outside of class for various activities. We have social gatherings and perform demos for various events around campus throughout the year. Check our board in the CMU for upcoming events.
